Welcome Riley!

Maddox has yet another new little-person friend - Riley Grace arrived coincidentally on the 27th - Maddox's "4 month birthday"!

Here's Mom with new-mom Melinda - both pregnant at Mom's shower; recently at Melinda's shower (Amy's not pregnanet anymore in this one); Baby Riley on her birthday; and Maddox and Riley napping together today. (Miss Riley was sweet enough to let Maddox rest in her pack-n-play when he came to visit).

Maddox - in action!

Maddox has started (the cutest!) laughing, and has even attempted to crawl.
The first video is his cute little cackle and the second is his first scoot.
He doesn't like to be on his stomache (hince the fussiness while crawling) so he hasn't really turned over yet. Just rocks to his side and stops. Why bother rolling over when you don't like to be on your belly, huh?
Enjoy!

Making Friends!

Maddox has lots of new friends about his age and he's spent some time with them lately. He's also gotten to meet some of Mom and Daddy's friends too.

There are more than *20* babies that we know of having birthdates within a year of him. God's been busy granting baby wishes these days - Thank you Lord :-)

Eli and his mom Lori from Jonesboro - born August 30.
- They tailgated for a bit before an ASU game. Eli's a BIG fan!

Jack and his mom Laurie from Memphis - born October 2006
(Maddox attended his 1st birthday party!)

Mom's friend Jessica came from Michigan to visit and meet Maddox.
(Please ignore the pearls and jogging suit - I had just changed from attending a funeral and forgot I had them on! haha)

Visiting Jett from Jonesboro - isn't Jett handsome??

The church we attend has three other new babies born within a month of Maddox. We all spend more time in the foyer than the service taking baby breaks! haha

Mommy's friend Jennifer and her precious daughter Meredith stopped in town for a visit and Maddox got to see them both. We had a big time!

Getting ready for my first Christmas!

Today Maddox helped Mommy decorate his first Christmas tree.

It took a little while to find that "perfect" spot, but he finally chose one and hung his ornament.
He was so excited about the lights!

Meeting Family

Maddox had the opportunity to visit Little Rock for a day and Daddy took him to meet his Great-Grandmother "Meemaw" Weeks (Clayton's maternal grandmother) and his Great-Great Aunt Zola (Clayton's paternal Great Aunt). It was quite a day for Maddox - and the special ladies!

Meemaw Aunt Zola

He also had the opportunity to travel to Kennett to meet Ms. Modene (Clayton's paternal grandmother). They had a BIG time too!

Grandmother/Ms. Modene

Maddox has three second-cousins that he got to meet too.

Jack, Evie, and Elle - too precious!!!

Maddox with Uncle Bryan and (soon to be) Aunt Samantha!

Maddox Bay

Maddox's first name was chosen to honor Maddox Bay - Amy's family's second home for generations. A family friend once wrote a poem about the Bay and Grandpa Burke (name to be determined!) showed it to Maddox today. Mom read it to him and below are the words:

Maddox Bay

There’s a little place of Heaven I know
that’s located over Arkansas way.
It’s found in the White River Basin;
it’s a place called Maddox Bay.

Through travels often take me far,
in my mind I can always recall;
that little brown rustic cottage
that beckons me with its call.

The quiet, peaceful time I spend there
is like a savior to my soul.
It redeems my falling spirit
as life’s burdens take their toll.

And often in the wee hours of the morning
when the darkness turns to day,
I can fish or hunt the wildlife;
and all my problems fade away.

And I relish the total solitude
or being with friends whom I care;
that know times are special there,
the restful hours that we share.

I thank God for all the blessings,
that He gives me in every way;
and somehow I feel I’m closest to Him,
when at His gift called Maddox Bay.

Gift from Wrigley!

Maddox didn't make a Cubs game this season, but Daddy did!

Clayton attended the playoff game there and got a ball for Maddox that was hit into the bleachers during batting practice by his favorite player - Aramis Ramirez.
